I'm wondering if there might be a way of having 'blood only' tiles float above the.

You'll kinda have to sift through everything. It takes a very long time to look through (it took me about 8 hours for half of it, and I didn't try to pull in the animated stuff). I'd say just find a few sets that look good at first if you wanna save time. I pulled a lot of it into my game and I'm just going to delete it if I don't use it. I'm actually in the process of getting rid of a lot of it now as it slows down the database. You can also select any DLC you might get from the Resource Manager. I wanted to find a good Youtube video, but there isn't anything out there that goes over a lot of stuff.

Also as another note, if you're planning to do a game commercially I would recommend staying away from a lot of this stuff as it will be nearly impossible to source and credit. Fortunately I'm just having fun with it. Tilesets When you're bringing in tilesets, you'll want to make sure that you select the proper transparent and translucent colors.

Lovecraft books. Transparent is the color you want to disappear (most have built in transparency). Many files I saw will have magenta/green/white backgrounds if they aren't already transparent. With the translucent colors, you'll want to make sure to select the translucent color, which is usually the shadow. The game will render this with a 50% or so transparency to make it look like the object is casting a shadow. If you import any of them wrong, you can go back and reselect these things. I also believe that you can use left and right mouse buttons to click transparent/translucent respectively.

Battlers, Characters, Faces, Etc. Bring these in the same way as tilesets (translucent/transparent) just through their respective folders. I'm using char creator and only a few of the battlers, so I don't have too much comment on this. Sounds I didn't get sounds with my pack, but make sure you follow these general guidelines as to where to put them if you do. It'll make life a bit easier down the road. BGM - This is the standard background music.

Audio will be looped. BGS - Background Soundscapes - These are where you put your atmospheric effects like wind, cityscape, etc. Audio will be looped.

Can be played along with BGM. ME - These effects are designed to be used with the 'System' sounds. If you want a new game over or victory song put it here.

They can also be triggered from eventing but I prefer to keep this folder clean. SE - This is for sound effects (short, one time played sounds).

This is the most versatile category. The only place I know you can't pick these is from the System tab. Useful for animation sounds and other things. Icons I didn't use the icons (I think they come individually), but I used ( warning, big 10k icons) instead.

I've modified it to include more gun options since those are a big thing in my game. I think you just have to import it as is (name it IconSet.png) and it will overwrite your old icon set.

Before you do that, I'd suggest backing up your old one though. GameOver and Titles These are the backgrounds for your Title Screen and Game Over screen. Selected from System tab in the Database. Other stuff I haven't really messed with any of the other folders, as they all included animated stuff or scripts without documentation etc.

I'd stay away from the.exe's for that. Scripts are much better to source online as you'll have the most updated version and a bit of support usually. You can easily turn your game into a hot mess if you don't add them one at a time (or in compatibility groups, say all of Yanfly's scripts).

You'll end up causing script conflicts and likely complexify what you're trying to do a little too much. I'd say only add scripts when they are adding a game mechanic that you think is essential for your game. I don't have anything since I'm using most of this stuff as placeholders so that I can do most of the artwork on my own later. If I use parts of it I was just thinking about running it through Google reverse image search. The issue is that if nothing comes up I wouldn't use it. Custom tilesets easy to credit (and I think royalty free other than initial cost) would include DLC.

There's some stuff out there but like your post its very few and far between. I don't know where most of the stuff in this pack came from.

OK Chaos17, we've waited far to long for this game. You're way over the Target Completion Date. From your blog: 'I might start a small project next year in hope to get back to my main project after it. I really have a problem with confidence and motivation, lol.' I know almost nothing about game making, but after checking out your mapping ability, you have no reason to worry about your game making abilities.

I know there is a lot more than mapping when it comes to making a game but it seems after reading so many things on this site, the only way to know if you are any good at making games is to put out a demo and ask for others to give suggestions about how you might make the game better. Some of the people who suggest things are a bit harsh BUT most other game makers here are more than willing to help others improve their abilities. Give your fellow game makers a chance to see your game and it needs changing, they will help give you that help.
