10.9.08 -TGS'08 -10.12.08 Alright! Hot off the heels of the (generally) awesome Nintendo Fall Media Summit from last week, today Japan's premiere videogame expo began, and already there's tons of stuff to talk about. The best part so far has been seeing awesome stuff from non-Nintendo sources, like the announcement of Halo 3 Recon. The only bad thing is the lack of Nintendo and Sony. Technically the latter's there, but they've chosen not to give an awesome keynote speech like Microsoft already has.

And Nintendo's.just not there at all (though apparently this is almost always the case). But despite that, there's still plenty of Nintendo love to go around from various 3rd party publishers, so without further ado. Updates! Monster Hunter 3 has a really cool control diagram. Just click on the black boxes next to each section to see the control in motion. This has nothing to do with TGS, and will probably make some of you angry, but I think it's adorable Microsoft has some more details to say about Halo 3 Recon. In short, it's a standalone game, not an expansion pack, playing as an ODST rather than a Spartan's going to be a bit more 'dangerous', and it's still basically the same gameplay we all know and love. Just thought I'd share this with you all.

Only a short teaser featuring Alucard was shown for the game in 2008 at the Tokyo Game Show. Trailer Edit. At the Tokyo Game Show of 2008. Castlevania now has a viewable teaser trailer. I swear, if that's Alucard.I'll actually have to finally get around to buying my own 360. ^.^; Okay more Sonic Unleashed stuff.

I won't say anything concrete yet, but if this gameplay video is anything to go by.I might have to eat some of my more incendiary words. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.is probably not being published outside of Japan, according to various Capcom execs when questioned about the title. It's not a definite, though honestly I wasn't expecting it to happen, but it still sucks regardless. Resident Evil 5 has a secondary control scheme called 'Shooter Mode', in which you can strafe.

Also the not-zombies drop ammo when you kill them.Is it just me, or is anybody else worried by this? Apparently the Flood are an enemy unit during the campaign (not multiplayer, for some reason) of Halo Wars.

Those of you that know your Halo mythos should be exploding right about now. ' PSP Plus' system allows you to link your PSP to your PS3, which will essentially let you play PSP games with a DualShock 3. It's like the GCN/GBA Link Cable crossed with the GameBoy Player.only still better. Click to expand. Howzer the CowBull-Knight and his faithful steed Pancho.

For those unaware:. It really does look awesome.but I mean, Yoshi's Island was marketed at 3-year olds, and look how that turned out. Charming' style might skew a bit young, but as long as the game's fun (and it certainly looks it), what does that matter? Personally, I've never played a Monster Hunter game, so I'm excited to see what all the fuss (and erotic comics) is about.

You say it's like PSO, huh. EDIT - TGS Trailer for LKS.

Who would win in a fight in a fight: Alucard or Simon Belmont? If you actually have an answer for that question, you're probably interested in Konami's, a fighting game for the Nintendo Wii. The build at Tokyo Game Show 2008 featured four selectable fighters, with Death and Maria joining the two already mentioned. Each character has different types of weapons: Simon's got a whip; Alucard a sword; Death a scythe; and Maria a staff with owls perched on the end. Each have multiple outfits you can choose from before heading into a fight. The actual fighting setup should be familiar to most who follow games.

There's a health bar for each fighter and when it's depleted, that fighter falls, losing that round. Lose two and you lose the fight. What's different about this game is you're not confined to a plane like in 2D fighters or forced to sidestep like in Virtua Fighter or Tekken. The setup is more like Power Stone where you're free to roam around a small 3D environment.

When you attack, the game seems to auto-focus on the other fighter, but otherwise you can try and break environmental obstacles for hearts and other power-ups. To attack you waggle the Wiimote, and with successive waggles you can easily pull off combos. Holding the trigger while doing this pulls off special moves. Death, for instance, can hurl out an energy ball that tracks its target and holds them in place when it hits. He can also charge with a spinning scythe from a distance.

Alucard can summon swords from the ground, as well as charge forward with attacks accompanied by more special effects than standard strikes. Though we weren't able to pull one off, it also appeared to be possible to execute even more powerful attacks accompanied by special cutscenes. Like in other Castlevania games, you can activate special items by consuming a number of hearts from your reserves. It seems like it's a simple, easy-to-play fighter that that tries to replicate some aspects of the more traditional Castlevania titles.
