For the translated list of items, weapons, characters, books, monsters – refer to this. If you are attempting the Japanese version, you can use this Japanese and look up the translations of item names or locations using the list I uploaded above. Flash puzzles. To those who are reading or translating the dialogue script, I’m sorry the dialogues sound stiff and bland.

My focus was to get the meaning across in the most loyal manner as possible and have other people do the localization and give it character. M( )m It will be a lot of work but hopefully there’ll be progress now that it’s open source. Hey guys, long time no update. Unfortunately I haven’t done much more work on this translation in the last year.

Download Lise no Atelier: Ordre no Renkinjutsushi v1.1 (3515) ROM for Nintendo DS (NDS) completly free. All roms have multiple mirrors and work across all devices. Atelier Elie English Translation. There’s also an english. This is a lil blog to chronicle my adventures with attempting to translate Atelier Elie into.

RL intervened with graduation and finding a job. Things are calming down now, so hopefully I’ll be able to find some time to continue with this soon. I’m also not entirely sure if the original translator got any further with it, so I’ll have to see what happens with that eventually too. Also, might need some help with all the graphics that need to be edited! But they’ll have to converted to an editable format first So still a long ways to go. I would love to be posting about actually REALLY getting somewhere.

Sadly, that is not the case. Real Life, the pain in the arse it is, called around December last year, and has had me fairly busy. Even sadder, I haven’t made much progress on the hacking side since then. In hindsight, getting sidetracked into learning C# and cooking up random utilities may not have been a good idea.

But well, they might come into use in the future. Realizing that, perhaps, I do not have the time to code dig for hours on end and struggle with the horrors that is ASM, some menu hacking is in order, especially since I’ve pretty much got all the tools to edit all the images in the game already. What does this mean? Stuff like this: Yes, that is Arial. No, I don’t know of any other fonts to use at the moment. And no, the translations are not final, they’re placeholders as I work out how to get them to fit properly and actually still make sense. (Reown + fame clearly does not) Other images to make (translations for most are done) include name tags (like the one on the top left, and in dialogue windows), loads of item name tags andmore menus.

As a sidenote, if anyone wants the entire game’s graphics dump (or close enough), including sprite maps, character faces and other weird stuff, do comment. So, all hope is not yet lost! I visit Romhacking.net regularly, but thanks for the suggestion. If anyone wants to suggest fonts, moving stuff in menus around, designs, etc. Do comment, or suggest. If anyone has save games/save states, they might be helpful since I can barely get anywhere in the game I leave you with a random cute blob I found in the graphics, I have no idea where it comes from since I haven’t finished the game (or come anywhere close).

In a classic getting sidetracked fashion of mine, I spent the last 2 days playing with C# and SharpDevelop, to ‘try’ and make a nice script reader/writer GUI. I just spent the last 4 or so hours getting another form to dock to the main one so it follows it around. Oh the sidetrackedness of trying for random useless features And here’s what’s done so far! Basically it can show what your text will look like in game, or close enough. (Which, by the way, is the point of the program) Next up, either figuring out this other routine that semi-breaks VWF: Or adding script reading abilities to that program! (And hopefully without frying my brain) Update: That routine above? It uses the GTE coprocessor.

Problem – I don’t know about the GTE functions. So, next step, go figure that out, and why the heck it needs to transform/rotate/perspective the text, and then pumping it out as a Poly4 rather than a Sprite like the rest of it, when it looks exactly the same and functions exactly the same as far as I can tell. The only thing I can think of? The crappy scrolling animation as it comes onto the screen.
